For its 7th edition, the Festival of Science and the Arts will take place from September 15 to 19, 2026 , with the theme “Human/Animal: A Shared Adventure?”
This year’s festival invites visitors to explore the complex and evolving connections between humans and animals, from biological evolution to cultural imaginations and contemporary issues.
Get a Taste of Science! – Meet AMU’s Institutional Institutes
AMUtech invites you to discover how nature can inspire research in the nanosciences.
From butterflies to nanoscience: toward new colors without pigments
With Mathieu Nicolas, an optical physicist, and Quentin Haemmerlé, a doctoral student in photonics and image sensors, both at the Fresnel Institute.
Using the example of butterfly wings, they will explain how certain natural structures produce colors without pigments and how these phenomena can inspire research in photonics and nanoscience.
Friday, September 18, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Mucem – Forum, in Marseille
Free admission
